Medicina de precisión, un avance necesario
Abstract
The scientific evidence is based among other points in clinical trials, whose traditional approach is to encompass to a population of people who are classified by groups or general situations but without greater rigor or individualization; who are given a treatment that is innovative, seeking to be a treatment good for everyone, but where you get variable results, where not all have the same effect, so results will show that one group benefits from the drug, another group does not obtain greater improvement and a third group group can develop adverse effects. From the sum of all these variables we have the clinical result of study that sometimes are not the most appropriate. Therefore, evidence-based medicine should be considered as a complement to the medical action but not a substitute that can diagnose with greater precision or replace analytical thinking, disdaining the experience of each doctor. Medicine has evolved throughout its history and has always incorporated advances and scientific advances always looking for a better treatment in the desire to cure the sick. But despite that in multiple opportunities, patients do not receive adequate treatment because the traditional approach included certain clinical conditions, so that at present it is not uncommon for a subject for example with classical factors of cardiovascular risk that is cataloged of low risk for a cardiac event, develops a coronary syndrome acute and even end with a sudden death, showing that the medical evaluation has not been the most appropriate or complete possible; however, the evaluations are only based on certain criteria that do not include many times the genetic load or certain conditions of a person, so the valuations at this time are incomplete.
