EXCAVACIONES ARQUEOLÓGICAS EN EL SITIO "ALERO QUEMADO": (ÚLTIMA ESPERANZA, MAGALLANES, CHILE) ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS IN "ALERO QUEMADO" SITE: (ULTIMA ESPERANZA, MAGALLANES, CHILE)

Abstract

En este trabajo se presentan los hallazgos arqueológicos realizados en un sondeo en un nuevo sitio denominado "Alero Quemado", en las cercanías del lago Sofía, en la provincia de Última Esperanza. Se destaca la presencia importante de artefactos en restos óseos de huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus), en una zona de transición ocupada por cazadores-terrestres y canoeros. La ocupación más antigua del alero data del Holoceno MedioThis paper presents the archaeological findings done in a test pit in "Alero Quemado" site in the neighborhoods of Sofia lake, province of Ultima Esperanza. The significant presence of artifacts in huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus) bone remains in a transition zone occupied by terrestrial and maritime hunter-gatherers is emphasized. The oldest occupation of the rock shelter dates from the Middle Holocene.
