This article examines the implications of wearing a face mask in small businesses. Based on a qualitative survey carried out at the end of spring 2020, it shows the different forms of relational work implemented to integrate this accessory into market relations. Beyond supporting economic trust, the scripting of the commercial link or the reconfiguration of the relationship to the merchandise, the relational work linked to the mask engages the articulation between moral and economic relationships.
