Few evidences have been preserved regarding the Verona’s Fascist Youth House (GIL), initially planned as a Casa del Balilla near Porta Nuova. Some unpublished archival documents and pro-jects by Ettore Fagiuoli enabled the retracement of the historical events that led to the construc-tion of this fascist building, settled in 1939 on the area of a pre-existing Jewish cemetery, abol-ished in 1926 by the fascist administration. The research also investigates the intricate phase of dismissing of the structure, which ended in the 1970s with the construction of today’s Chamber of Commerce.
