Study of systemic immune index in retinal vein occlusion

Abstract

AIM: To evaluate the expression of systemic immune-inflammation index(SII),neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and platelet/lymphocyte ratio(PLR)and their value in patients with retinal vein occlusion(RVO).METHODS: A total of 57 patients with CRVO,88 patients with BRVO and 89 normal subjects were recruited in Dalian No.3 People's Hospital from August 2019 to August 2021. Blood cell counts and SII,NLR,and PLR levels were compared. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to determine the predictive value of SII in the occurrence of RVO.RESULTS:Neutrophil,white blood cell counts, NLR and SII were higher in the CRVO and BRVO groups than in the control group, and there was a significant difference(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The SII value of RVO patients was significantly different from normal subjects,and SII may be a potential clinical evaluation index for RVO diagnosis or disease progression monitoring.
