Design of a high-precision ADC for the application of monitoring electric power in power grid

Abstract

In order to meet the needs of electric power system monitoring, a 3 bit 5 order sigma-delta ADC is designed and implemented. The measurement results show that the dynamic range of the system is higher than 100 dB and the effective bit is greater than 16 bits, which can meet the requirements of the modern power grid system′s measurement of the transformer AC output.
