Abstract

This paper will discuss a series of key elements, textualized in La casa de los conejos (2008) by Laura Alcoba and El espíritu de mis padres sigue subiendo en la lluvia (2011) by Paricio Pron: memory, narration and writing. It will analyze the process of remembering, narrating and writing the family history, expressed in different ways in both novels. Firstly, the narratives’ plot, constituted by an absence, will be studied. Furthermore, a series of structural elements of the texts that reveal the process of remembering and writing will be analyzed. Finally, this paper will consider the narrative perspective in both novels through which the limits and the possibilities of the voice of the I come to the fore.
