Abstract

“TradiTional MarkeTs” inThe GenTrificaTion/requalifica-Tion Processes: consensus, arGuMenTsand conflicTs.This article expands on the problematic subject of the “tra­ditional markets” in the Latin american cities, recently described as in declivity and/or capitalized by their content (local foods) or their container (buildings). it also analyzes the relation between the processes of gentri­fication/requalification and the roll of the markets re­lated to them. Here, the local and located individuals and social groups apparently affected, negotiate and dispute those processes of public and/or privaterequalification.
