Abstract
In the 1983 film Nostalghia, Andrei Tarkovsky shows the main actors (Gorchakov, a Russian intellectual looking for the trail of an ancestor of his, a musician, and the young Eugenia, an interpreter accompanying him) in a Grand Tour searching for truth in Italy’s time and space. It is known that when Tarkovsky visited the Uffizi, he only toured the first four halls, since he feared being badly influenced by Renaissance paintings.
