Abstract
The se paper analyses of the state nation’s reassertment strategies configured on the recent political and administrative process hap pened to the Brazilian state. It intends to search the tension between universalism / particularim national policies and multic ultural policies aiming to disc u ss the questi o n of the ethnic rights possibilities a mong the context of the mo nocultural paradigm of the human rights’ liberal tradition or from the differentiated citizenship rights, on the arnbit of a State that assures t o be itself a nati o nal one. It takes as empiric carnp the discourse of the new Indian policies of education and Health.
