We present here part of the academic journey of Professor Vera Lúcia Alves França, Ph.D at the Federal University of Sergipe, Brazil. There are many stories to be told, but here we select those that, from the authors' perspective, can help readers know more about her. The option to bring the academic activities mingled with daily issues was based on the desire to demonstrate how much her academic life was confused with her day to day life, with her being in the world. We have brought remembrances from our memories and hearts. Memories of written, spoken and felt texts, present in the speech of some the people who had the honor to interact with her, inside and outside the academic environment. Here is also some information collected during tan interview with Professor França in November 2018, as well as others that were gathered in her Curriculum Lattes (Brazilian data basis for academic curricula). The option for performing a free and informal narrative is intended to provide space for free expression of emotions. Prof. França is an exemplary figure not only in the academic-scientific milieu of the state of Sergipe, Brazil, but also a reference in the lives of her students, friends and family.
