Three Nostalgias

Abstract

During the 1960s, many youth in North America expected social progress. Nostalgia for this expectation now coexists with nostalgia among NATO hawks and conservative politicians for Cold War confrontation, and with nostalgia in the former Soviet Bloc for socialism. Relations between these nostalgias are explored in this commentary.
