Social System of the Kalmyks in the XIХ Century: Historiographical Aspect

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the different opinions about character of the Kalmyk social system of the 19th century in the pre-revolutionary, soviet and modern periods. Considerable attention is paid to the interpretation of Mongol-Oirat laws of 1640.
