AS DOENÇAS RESPIRATÓRIAS E A ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA À SAÚDE
Abstract
Objective: The objective of this review is to show the prevalence of respiratory diseases in Brazil and the role of primary care in their treatment by searching the database. Results: The results show that respiratory diseases in Brazil are considered a public health problem. Pneumonia, asthma and COPD accounted for approximately 12% ( 11,672,832 / 97,478,764 ) of all Hospital Admissions Authorizations ( AIH ) issued. In this context the implementation of the strategy called the Practical Approach to Lung Health (PAL Strategy) in the primary care in Brazil could aid in the diagnosis and treatment of such diseases. Conclusion: Implementation Strategies to reduce the morbidity of respiratory diseases in Brazil are necessary, since the prevalence of these diseases is still high worldwide.
