Museum: its Role and Importance in the Cultural and Educational Space of the Ukrainian Schoolchildren (According to the Social Survey of Schoolchildren of the Kharkiv Gymnasium no. 14)
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the museum space in the context of its perception by middle-aged Ukrainian teenagers. Research methodology is based on a set of civilization and deterministic tasks that are simultaneously realized through sociological research. The article is based on a standard questionnaire and open-ended sociological survey conducted on the basis of Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 14. Results. The article states that the museum as a social and cultural institute is an unconditional importance for middle school students. In addition, the survey shows that the entertaining sides of the museum, which has the status of an academic, cultural and educational institution, should not be over-cultivated. The entertaining role of the museum should not be underestimated, since this function (in relation to the educational value) can be an additional incentive to activate cultural and educational tasks. According to the statement of one of the students, the most important conclusion is that the successful functioning of museums depends largely on the request of society, children consciousness and value priorities. Novelty. The article reveals the aspect of the role and importance of the museum in the cultural and educational space of the Ukrainian student, directly focused on the use of museum pedagogy in the educational space. The novelty of the article is that there is a lack of intelligence directly focused on the use of museum pedagogy in the educational space of Eastern European countries. The practical significance is that the results of the article can be used for further in-depth study of the role and importance of the museum in the cultural and educational space of the Ukrainian school.
