Le découpage du calendrier scolaire au Cameroun (1960-2020) : enjeu politique ou pédagogique ?
Abstract
This work describes the evolution of the school year calendar of independent Cameroon while questioning the relevance of the factors taken into account for its development. The present Cameroonian school calendar is the result of a complex colonial heritage, updated after independence. Originally copied entirely on the model of the old metropolises, it underwent several rearrangements according to the interests at stake. The significant influence of France and the political fights of the national scene are thus the factors which prevailed in its elaboration. The educational aspect and the socio-environmental realities remained more or less taken into account. This is not without affecting the smooth running of school activities, particularly in the regions and among the sociological groups which are the most disadvantaged.
