Energy gains from natural sources have become widespread around the world. Solar and biogas energy systems, which we hear frequently today, also attract the attention of investors. Obtaining large gains with appropriate investments in the appropriate region has made both energy more environmentally friendly and more profitable for the investor. In this study, the energy and environmental potentials for the installation of solar or biogas energy systems on a dairy farm in Karacabey district of Bursa were examined and a comparison was made between the two energy systems. Using the RETScreen program for the solar energy system, it was determined that the dairy farm would generate a total of 1.026.597 kWh/year of electricity and the system could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 345 tCO2/year. For the biogas system, it was determined that the total electricity generation potential to be produced from the farm at the end of 2023 is 1.012.158 kWh/year and a total of 692,316 tons/year of CO2 emissions can be prevented. It was determined that the annual electricity consumption of the farm was 885.855 kWh/year. It is concluded that both energy systems will meet the electricity energy amount of the farm, but the biogas plant will prevent greenhouse gas emissions more. However, it was decided to install solar panels on the dairy cattle farm due to the high initial investment and operating costs of the biogas plant and the decrease in the amount of waste due to the decrease in the amount of animals over the years and this situation negatively affects the efficiency of the plant.
