Composite plates with curvilinear reinforcement structure: Production technologies, buckling and vibration resistance
Abstract
This paper considers a new class of materials - polymer fiber composites with curvilinear reinforcement. Such materials are actively developing today and find application in many industrial sectors due to the rapid improvement of additive technologies. Laying of reinforcing fibers along curvilinear trajectories allows to adapt composite structures to complex loading conditions and, thus, significantly increase the bearing capacity of structural elements without increasing their mass. In the article a comparative analysis of modern additive manufacturing technologies of composites with curvilinear reinforcement is carried out. Such technologies as automatic fiber placement (AFP), automated tape laying (ATL), tailored fiber placement (TFP) and cutting and stacking technology (CTS) are considered. Each of these technologies has certain features that determine their applicability. In addition to analyzing the manufacturing technologies, the paper provides an overview of the main results obtained in the study of buckling and vibration resistance of thin-walled composite structural elements with curvilinear reinforcement. The use of new approaches to modeling and calculation of such structures makes it possible to significantly improve the performance of elements under complex loading compared to standard unidirectional composites.
