Effects on ecosystem services value due to land use and land cover change (1990–2020) in the transboundary Karnali River Basin, Central Himalayas
Abstract
Article highlights Over the 30 years forest, waterbody, and snow/ice has decreased, whereas shrub/grassland, agriculture, bare area, and built-up has increased in the basin. The ESV of the basin has increased by 2.7 million USD in 30 years. Anthropogenic as well as climate change are the drivers of LUCC-driven ESV changes in the basin.
