The theme of management of professional competencies on which this article focuses on, is on the transition of the concept of skill to the one of competence, also to shed more light on the paradigm of the sociological analysis of competencies. The cognitive content of the work activity is defined as the central axis of analysis of professional competencies. We additionally propose a further discussion of these according to a recognition point of view. This means studying practices used in the Human Resources management and also in models of leadership. The article ends with a discussion in the contradiction of the model of competencies.
