Abstract This study is to clarify the bases in which the Kurdish labour party founded in Turkey in the 1970's of the twentieth century, and its armed activities during the period from 1984–2007, as a reaction over the policies imposed by the Turkish governments since the foundation of the Turkish republic against the armed Kurdish movements in Turkish modern history especially the period of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk rule (1923–1938). Furthermore, the Turkish reaction against the activities of this party and its reflections over the relations between the two neighbours countries. Finally, the conclusions in which the researcher has concluded in order to settle the Kurdish cause in Turkey to enhance the Iraq – Turkish relations.
