The object of this study was to determine the leaf consumption parameters of Phaseolus vulgaris by Urbanus acawoios (Willians, 1926) (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). The temperature during the experiment was 21.71ºC+2.02ºC for ambient temperature, and the controlled temperature was 25.0ºC+1.0ºC; the relative humidity of the air was 60.0% + 5.0% and the photoperiod was 16h. The Urbanus acawoios caterpillars had five instars in both ambient and controlled temperatures in the study cultivars. The ambient and 25ºC temperatures did not appear to affect the consumption of leaves.
