Purpose. The article is one of the first to provide a classification of the names of traditional Even clothes according to lexico-semantic groups, as well as the main functions of the everyday and ritual clothes of the Evens are determined. The aim of the study is a systematic analysis of the names of traditional Even clothes, identification and description of ethno-linguistic and cultural features of the thematic group “Clothing” in dialects and sub-dialects of the Even language and classification of clothing items by certain lexical-semantic groups. Methodology. The paper uses the continuous sampling method (for the initial collection of material from sources), the method of stepwise identification of vocabulary definitions (when determining the composition of a thematic group. Results. The author introduces lexical units that were not recorded in the bilingual dictionaries of the Even language, as well as systematizes the language material of the thematic group “Clothes” in the sub-dialects and dialects of the Even language. Practical implications. The results of the work can be used in the comparative studies of the languages and culture of the Tungus-Manchu peoples, as well as in compiling comparative and dialectal dictionaries of the Even language.
