This article analyses the dialectical relationship between politics and privacy in Jewish writers’ diaries held during the National Socialist era; it focuses on Victor Klemperer’s writings, in order to demonstrate that holding a diary in such a period can be seen as a genuine attempt to resist against Nazism, and to survive.
