CENTRUL DE TEHNOLOGII IONIZANTE – O INVESTIŢIE STRATEGICĂ ÎN SĂNĂTATE ȘI INDUSTRIE

Abstract

Ionizing radiation technologies have reached worldwide a high degree of development, thus allowing transposing from the research area to applications on an industrial scale. Creation of the Center of Ionizing Technologies in the Republic of Moldova aims to „achieve a multipurpose irradiator for irradiation technology promotion in the Republic of Moldova”. The project is considered as a strategic investment to ensure the health and quality of life of the population and it is also considered as a model of a direct involvement of the research into the top economical aspects. In the paper, it is given the comparison of the industrial sterilization methods, highlighting the advantages of treatment by ionization. The activity of the Center of Ionizing Technologies in the Republic of Moldova will be directed to the sterilization of row materials, medical packages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agricultural products, food, objects of cultural heritage, etc. Products sterilized by the ionizing technologies become compatible to European Union conditions allowing the possibility for the economical agents to expand their activity on the European market.
