In this text is briefly analized the work about the deconstruction of kinship started by Schneider in the 80´s and its unequal influence on the Anglo-Saxon and french-speaking context. The reflections about the Schneider´s review prepared the way to analize the changes that have taken place in the last 30 years in the kinship field, the family and the marriage in Europe and North America. This change questions the cultural concepts deeply rooted in the biology, which is by now dominant in the West. The articles of this presentation shows in depth the challenge that sets out this changes for the kinship specialists, but it´s also a change for the actors who, trough their choices, strategies and practices are building differents types of be related, in which the biology, the choice and the will are not only opposed, replaced, assimilationed and/or exclude but they are in addition, complementarity, accumulation and/or succession.
