Background In India first wave of COVID-19 pandemic was followed by a massive surge of COVID-19 cases. Present study was conducted to compare demographic characteristics, clinical and mortality profile of admitted patients during first and second waves of coronavirus outbreak. Methods: This was a cross-sectional analytical study of medical records of admitted patients in a tertiary care centre. Medical records of 500 patients in each of the two waves were chosen randomly for study. Each record included demographic details and clinical records of patients. Statistical analysis: Data was entered on Microsoft Excel 2013, and analysed using STATA version 17. 0. Chi-square test was used for comparison of qualitative data and for quantitative data unpaired t-test was used.
