THE ANALYSIS OF UNIVERSITIES’ INTEGRATIVE ACTIVITIES ON THE ECONOMY OF REGIONAL ENTERPRISES
Abstract
Background. The article is devoted to the issues of studying the interaction of the regional higher education system and socio-economic trends in the development of regional economies. The subject of the research is higher education institutions that act as an element of the system of regional development institutions. The article describes a new method for assessing the impact of the results of educational and research activities of indicators of educational organizations on the cultural and socioeconomic level of regional development, based on regression models for assessing the impact of indicators of the volume of research and development on the level of the gross regional product of the region, which makes it possible to predict trends in the development of the regional economy, as well as to classify regional systems of higher education depending on the strength of their impact: drivers of regional development; higher education systems with a high level of influence; moderately influential higher education systems; systems of higher education with a low level of influence. Materials and methods. Using methods of system analysis, expert assessments, statistical ranking, regression-correlation analysis, indicators of scientific activity of universities were determined, which most affect the value of gross regional product, the amount of taxes and fees paid to budgets of all levels and foreign trade turnover. Results. The key results of the study are indicators developed by the authors, reflecting the effectiveness of universities as an element of the system of regional development institutions, a methodology for assessing the impact of these indicators on the cultural and socio-economic level of regional development. Conclusions. The obtained scientific results can be used by the management of higher education institutions, state authorities in the formation of a strategy for the development of the higher education system, the development of methods for assessing the effectiveness of regional educational systems.
