The Community Colleges: Giving Them the Ethical Recognition They Deserve

Abstract

This essay brings community colleges into the emerging discourse on university ethics. The over 40% of American undergraduates in community colleges have been, like their institutions grossly overlooked. This essay seeks to recognize the institution, the students and the faculty and challenges erroneous perceptions, calls for further research and reveals the enormous problem of the transfer “choke” that defeats so many fine students.
