Rural extension and local development: the experience of the Food Acquisition (PAA) with the Quilombola Association of Raccoon in Cacimbinhas, Alagoas / Extensão rural e desenvolvimento local: a experiência do Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos (PAA) junto a Associação Quilombola de Guaxinim, em Cacimbinhas, Alagoas
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the rural extension programs in local development perspective, using the experience with the Food Acquisition Program - PAA along the Quilombo Association Guaxinim, based in the city of Cacimbinhas - AL, reporting my experience as a technical extension . The rural extension geared to local development aims to promote actions to bring better quality of life for family farmers, according to these precepts was developed a plan of action which aimed to meet the needs of farmers, who They found disbeliever due to lack of incentives for the generation of income. In its precepts PAA seeks to marketing products from family farms, organization of production, social inclusion, encouraging increased production generating the strengthening of family farming. The methodology of research was used qualitative research, which allowed us to deepen the analysis of social, productive and economic issues, and socioeconomic questionnaire used to obtain data showing the local reality. Among the results, it concluded that the actions taken have had positive effects with regard to raising the self esteem of the beneficiary farmers, to increased income generation, as well as the community of interest with the association. Despite the benefits, producers were diagnosed did not understand the purpose of the program and had only as a temporary income and did not extend its production to reach new trades, and the lack of reception of the products infrastructure. However it is concluded that the objective of this work and of the actions taken have been achieved successfully
