Forestry of Ukraine: Current State and Trospects for Development

Abstract

Forests cover approximately one-third of the earth’s surface, ensuring vital organic infrastructure for diverse living forms. They comprise a bazillion number of species and also provide humanity with various benefits. Forests of Ukraine by their purpose and location serve as a water protective complex, sanitary-hygienic and recreational zone, and satisfy human needs for wood resources. Crises in the national economy have also affected the forest industry. The deepening of crisis phenomena in forestry has a negative impact on both the state’s economy and the environment, which in turn worsens the environmental situation.
