Vent et historicité dans des communautés mapuches de Mendoza (Argentine)

Abstract

During sensibility mapping sessions conducted in 2022, members of the Mapuche communities of Mendoza province chose to include the wind. This article discusses the cartographic notations of the wind and the functions it fulfils in the maps, based on the reasoning of the "cartographers" and in the cosmology of the Mapuche people. The wind, or rather a specific mode of appearance of the wind (mewlen), is then presented in the form of a historical-biographical operator that organises the graphic compositions that are studied.
