The cornel (Cornus mas L.) in nature and in culture in Ukraine

Abstract

Article illustrates the dissemination of Cornus mas L. in its natural habitat and beyond it in Ukraine. It's been revealed that areas and the cornelian cherry productivity in nature have decreased considerably. Cornelian cherry is cultivated in all regions, though in the south, southwest and northwest areas its occurrence is higher than such in the center and east. The northern boundary of the cornelian cherry successful fruiting may be drawn through the cities of Chemihiv and Hluhiv. High adaptation abilities of the sorts and forms of the cornelian cherry cultivated populations have been emphasized.
