Rap-music is part and expression of a lifestyle belonging to one of the most impressive drifts young people admire – Hip-Hop. By coalescing words and beats this kind of music constantly create feelings: Dissatisfaction, aggression and sorrow but also joy and gratitude. Another scheme of rhythmic speech can be found in the psalms of the Old Testament. According to rap-songs emotions are shown directly, more often even nasty and violent – nevertheless of highest aesthetic quality. Both lyrics of rap songs and psalms are drawn from life. In this article I would like to analyze which connections and chances are contained (from a didactic point of view) by mustering a Hip-Hop-Song with psalms.
