Abstract

With the following, the author wishes to re interpret the life and philosophy of Raissa Oumancoff Maritian, starting with the epistolary correspondence between herself and other contemporary Polish intellectuals. Fonds Jacques et Raïssa Maritain from The National library and University of Strasburg, represents the most complete resource for anyone looking to delve into the life and works of the Maritain spouses, letters exchanged between the poetess and the Polish literati like Joseph Czapski, Maria Czapska, Irène Tyszkiewic and Maria Winowska have been found. Although, at present because of administrative procedures requested by the library, these documents have not been studied, the author hopes it will be possible once all the necessary permits are obtained. They cover Raissa’s concept of friendship so as to view it from a different perspective, and integrating it with the results of previous studies of her correspondence.
