The existence of various factors in modern architecture has brought about changes and problems such as not paying attention to cultural, historical and traditional elements in indigenous architecture. Therefore, in communicating with the native architecture, modern architecture tries to implement a space that, on the one hand, has the ability to meet the needs of society and, on the other hand, does not create a place far from the original and traditional patterns by changing the space. But these changes still create problems in the historical context and physical elements of naturalistic space-making, and most of them have arisen with new approaches and modernist expression. Since squares play the role of a collective space in the context of the city, it is necessary to focus on climatic criteria and implement ideas with new technology to have a stable and compatible basis. In this study, with documentary studies and historical-analytical method on naturalistic approaches in the indigenous architecture of Naghsh Jahan Square in Isfahan, by examining naturalistic elements from different angles, the findings indicate that the features of indigenous and modern architecture in Naghsh Jahan Square are sustainable. Climate and cultural issues together and with the use of modernist elements that some spaces are limited; Also, executive plans do not have a rich cultural background. These changes have been formed depending on temporal and spatial conditions and have somehow isolated and degraded the identity and vitality of the collective space of the square.
