The influence of conducting the systemic relational therapy on the therapist and creation of the new system of the patient
Abstract
In the article we show how therapeutic relationship promotes changes in basic relational structure of the patient. We will describe a clinical example of such a relationship, which produced radical changes of the basic pattern of object-relational world of the patient. We will also show how the therapeutic process affected the therapist. The idea that the therapist and the patient co-create a specific mutual affect in their therapeutic relationship is presented. It is also shown how the therapist's handling of the affect in the systemic relational model of therapy brought about changes in the patient's family-of-origin patterns of relating.
