Assessing student digital competence: a review of the Latin American case
Abstract
This documentary research makes a state of the art review to characterize the research in evaluation of digital competence in Latin America and its main findings. 2879 articles were found in scientific databases and eleven of them were selected according to type and origin, they were examined with content analysis techniques. Some results indicate that research with a quantitative approach and survey design predominates, without specific reference frames that serve in the construction of instruments to evaluate digital competence. Regarding the degree of digital competence of students, we find different results. The best achieved competition is the search and access to information while the lowest is usually related to social learning.
