HEPATITIS TOXICA - CASE REPORT
Abstract
Toxic lesion of the liver is a subject of differential diagnosis of infectologists-hepatologists. This problem is augmenting because of the abuse of drugs and self-treatment. Liver damage mostly goes as cholestatic form of disease, with clinical manifestations of icterus, pruritus, changes of urine and stool color. Clinical finding is followed by quite characteristic laboratory changes (bilirubin, alkaline phospatase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, cholesterol). In order to make the diagnosis of these patients complete, it is necessary to perform the liver biopsy. The paper presents the case of a 42-year-old female patient with the syndrome of cholestasis, and clinical, laboratory and pathohistologically confirmed toxic lesions of the liver.
