Tuvan art of small statuary and image of Noyon

Abstract

The article describes one of the images of Tuvan sculptural art – Noyon. The genesis of the image is traced. Its origins are recorded in the ancient nomadic world, a fortifying of new features has been occurring in the Tuvan environment. It is concluded that there is a connection of the image with chess and Buddhism. In conclusion, an assumption is made that there might be the further potential variation of Noyon image.
