The present work aims to describe and analyse depression and its repercussion on society in last part of the 20th century. The research has been done after watching and studying a series of films most of them within the drama category, in the special period of Spanish films between 1975 and 1995. Results show that people are affected at sometime or other in their lives by different types of depression induced by social influence although it is difficult to ascertain that social influence. The conclusion is that cinema could be used as a teaching instrument to demonstrate specific types of depression. Therefore, it could be of great help to present social influence as origin of some depression processes.
