Intrathoracic Lipoblastoma: A Rare Occurrence in a Child
Abstract
Lipoblastoma is a rare benign tumor arising from embryonic fat tissue, primarily affecting children under 3 years of age, and is exceptionally uncommon in the thoracic cavity. We report a case involving a 4-year-old boy with intrathoracic lipoblastoma. The mass was entirely removed through a left posterolateral thoracotomy, and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. Despite its rarity, lipoblastoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of thoracic masses in children.
