The aim of this study was to make an approach to the description and comparison of motor development in the locomotor, manipulative and global levels of Spanish students, who practice extracurricular sports activities. 117 subjects (63 girls and 54 boys) aged between 69 and 115 months (mean age 3.2 ± 8.25 years), belonging to the elementary school "La Palomera" city of Leon (Spain) were analyzed. EDM protocol (Motor Development Scale, Rosa Neto, 2002) was used as an instrument of study. The results show significant differences between genders in Manipulative Skills, girls getting the best results. Girls also scored better Overall Motor Quotient (QMG). Better results were seen in the earliest ages of the G1 (69-79.05 months), G2 (82-90.10 months), G3 (94-106.07 months) and G4 (98-110 months) groups, the G5 (120-125 months) group which is sampled with a minor motor deficit.
