Background and Aims: Emergency medical workers are the first to experience stressful situations, and these stresses in the long term lead to job burnout, which may overshadow their performance. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effects of job burnout on the job performance of emergency medical technicians. Materials and Methods: The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 39 emergency medical technicians of Esfarayen Faculty of Medical Sciences in 1401 by census sampling method using Maslach's standard job burnout questionnaire and Hersey and Goldsmith's occupational performance questionnaire. The validity of Maslach's job burnout questionnaire and Hersey and Goldsmith's occupational performance questionnaire were confirmed through their content validity and reliability of r=0.71 and r=0.69, respectively. Data were analyzed through Pearson's correlation coefficient and independent t-test using SPSS statistical software. Result: Most of the working technicians were officially employed (33 %) and were in the age range of 22 to 32 years (74.4% ). The level of job burnout (95.89 ±17.71) was in the medium-high risk level and job performance (62.52±11.33) was in the medium-low level. Pearson's correlation results showed that there is a significant inverse relationship between job burnout variable and job performance (r=-0.181, p=0.021). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that there is a significant inverse relationship between job burnout and job performance of technicians, and since high job burnout can lead to a decrease in job performance, it is recommended to adjust the factors that cause job burnout. Try to improve the job performance of technicians.
