The risks associated with academic practical work are often perceived to be much lower than the risks inherent in industrial operations. The main objectives of the study are to explore the extent of the application of safety management within the laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Constantine 1 University, Algeria. A survey questionnaire was distributed to faculty laboratory staff exploring the administration's knowledge, attitudes, and commitment to implementing safety management policies in academic laboratories. The results obtained provided information on the current situation of the laboratory safety management system, in particular the unreasonable layout, the safety risks to which users are exposed as well as the level of adequacy of the systems already in place.
