Restoration in North America: The story of a library
Abstract
In this article, we present as an introduction the situation of restoration in the United States and, as a specific example, the successive reforms and amplifications of a small library by Henry H. Richardson, whose history reflects significant phenomena connected with restoration in this country. The importance of the author and his architectural expertise made this one of the most admired buildings of its time and one whose influence has been decisive.
