Over the centuries it has generally been accepted that women are the most sensitive gender. Recent studies have shown further confirmations; in fact, women have receptors on nerve fibers that, by binding to estrogens, cause them to feel pain more intensely than men. Pregnancy, with the increase of progesterone, can relieve pain as the text shows.
