An Examination of the Correlation Between Proactive Personalities and Problem-Solving Abilities Among Sport Sciences Faculty Students
Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the relationships between the proactive personalities and problem-solving abilities of Sports faculty students. A total of 223 students, 96 women and 127 men, studying at Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Sports Sciences, participated in the research. To collect data in addition to the personal information form created by the researchers for demographic items; The Shortened Proactive Personality Scale (PCS), developed by Bateman and Crant (1993) and revised and reduced to 10 items by Claes et al. (2005) was used. The scale was adapted to Turkish by Akın et al. (2011). In the data analyzes, first data variance and homogeneity were tested, and Spearman correlation analysis was applied to heterogeneous data. As a result, a moderate positive relationship was observed between the proactive personalities and problem-solving skills of the participants.
