Media, elections and opinion research in Brazil (1989-2010): mapping the presence of electoral coverage researches
Abstract
This study examines the presence of opinion polls in the Brazilian media in election periods. To this end, we produced a apping of the publication of polls in the print media between 1989 and 2010, the campaign for the corresponding periods in the six presidential elections that occurred in that range. The review looks at the specific standards and dissemination of research by the major daily newspapers and weekly news magazines in Brazil during the period indicated, with attention to the emphasis givenby the research vehicles in the form of presentation (stratification methodological information etc ) and their weight the definition
