Proposal of nursing actions for the Cervical Cancer Program
Abstract
A descriptive cross-sectional study was performed. The study universe consisted of 235 nurses who work in the family's medical offices, which were the sample. With the objective of proposing nursing actions for compliance with the Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program in Guantanamo municipality. Variables such as: compliance with the screening of cytology by nursing staff was used according to priorities, results of non-useful cytology performed and patients Treated in neck pathology. The screening of cytology according to priorities was performed at 100.6 %, non-profit at 3.7 % below the national average, recovered at 86.3 %, and only 13.6 % remained unpaid. The number of women in neck pathology decreased. A set of nursing actions were carried out based on up-to-date scientific knowledge. Encouraging the active participation of women, community mass organizations and intersectors.
